Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Huangjinyu, Luocheng County, Guangxi. It was named by Zhao Jinke and Zhang Wenyou in 1952.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Composed of dark-gray limestone intercalated with dolomite, carbonaceous limestone and micro-grained limestone, containing clayey material and chert, locally with sandstone and shale. The thickness varies greatly, being 290−399 m at Luocheng, and ~850 m around Taiping of Liucheng County. From west to east, brecciated limestones are decreasing remarkably and the strata are getting thinner.

Fossils

Corals Arachnolasma, Kueichouphyllum, Heterocaninia, Clisiophyllum, Dibunophyllum, Neoclisiophyllum, Donophyllum and Lithostrotion; Brachiopods Punctospirifer, Linoproductus, Gigantoproductus, Chonetes, Avonia, Eochoristites, Neospirifer, Pugilis, etc. as well as crinoid stems, gastropods, ostracods, Ammonoids and plant fragments.
